0DELL STABLE IS SUSPENDED, Eagle Birds Form Reversals Responsible for Rulinjr by Moncrief Park Officials. Jacksonville, Fla., March 21. This was an offday at Moncrief Park. The program offered was of ordinary caliber, a majority of the races being framed to suit horses that had not won a race here, this season. A cold raw wind swept across tho infield and made the grandstand anything lint a. comfortable spot. The wind dried the track, ami. although a little lumpy in spots, the course was in fairly good condition. Aspirin won the feature, a mile allowance affair which was run as. the fourth race. He simply toyed with his opposition, going to the front when ready and drawing away into a. three-lengths lead in tho homestretch. Incidentally he was the only successful favorite of the afternoon. The closing race, which M-as a dash of a mile and an eighth, furnished one of the best finishes seen here all season. There were six starters aud four of them fought it out all through the homestretch and passed the winning mark noses and heads apart. It was an exceedingly close thing at the end. but the official placing gave Goltonda first place. First Peep second and Pocotallgo third. Eagle Birds victory in the fifth race, following her oor showing on Wednesday, resulted in the suspension of the stable owned by C. J. Odell. The running of the lilly Is lieing investigated bj" the judges and meanwhile entries from the stable will be refused. Eagle Bird was claimed by S. A. Clop-ton after her defeat of Wednesday, and Mr. Odell lKiosted her after her victory this afternoon from 00 to ,;:00, and secured her at the latter figure. Mr. Clopton paid 25 for her and made several hundred dollars on the deal. The conditions of the third race, for non-winners at the meeting, brought out a much better field than was expected. Among the starters were Plate Glass. Banives. Rye Straw, Banyah, Jack Nunually and Babbler. The winner turned up in Plate Glass, which came from behind in the stretch to lieat Springniass a length aud a half It was the first start of Plate Glass here and ho ran a race which would seem to indicate that lie will be a daugerous factor in any company at sprinting distances from now on. Babbler, which was also making his maiden effort of the season, was on his good behavior at tin; post, but lacked speed. The horses owned by R. G. Martin have been turned over to J. G. Wagnon, who will handle them in future. The speedy mare, Pantoutle. which was shipped to New York a few weeks ago, is reported to have died. W. Martin sold Definite to A. L. Holler and the filly ran in the hitters name and colors today. .t. W. Bnrttschells Radium Star, which was jumped on and had a tendon on one of his forelegs severed, was killed last night. A. W. Foulk has re-purchased Flarney from the association and has also bought Roscboro of F. J. Pons. Horsemen are shipping from here to Norfolk. Two carloads left Jacksonville this afternoon. The Schorr stable will not be divided as originally planned, but Mill be shipped as one string to Norfolk and then to Baltimore. S. A. Clopton has re-purchased the mare Marie Hyde from S. S. Stephens, who took her out of a. selling race yesterday.
