GLENSIDE WINS THE GRAND NATIONAL. Liverpool, Eng., March 24. Twenty-six horses started in the Grand National Steeplechase of 3,000 sovereigns at Aintree today and at the finish F. Bibbys nine-year-old bay horsey Glenside, by St. Oris KHwinnet. 143 pounds, was first, with O. H. Jones six-year-old bay gelding. Itathnally, by St. Pat Alauua, 154 pounds, second and P. Nelkes six-year-pld hay or brown mare. Shady Girl, by Lc Noir Gertie, 145 pounds, third. The winner was at 20 to 1 in the betting. Lulteur III., the French winner of the event in 1909, was a hot favorite, hut fell in the second round off the course, which Was four miles and S5G yards. Nine other horses followed the example of the favorite. American race horse owners scored twice at Mai-soiis-Laflitte, in France." yesterday. The Prix de Cal-listrate for three-year-olds, value SI. WO, distance one mile, was won by Frank J. Goulds Combourg. Nash Turners Friand II. captured the Prix dc IIou-dan. a selling race of 1911.sh00. distance ten and one-half furlongs.
