NOTES OF THE TURF. W. C. Wea nt brought only Ramon Corona and Otilo to Kentucky from Juarez. Jockeys Guy Garner and J. Glass passed through Chicago yesterday en route from Juarez to Pimlico. The exodus of racing men from Juarez to other points is virtually over. Not more than fifty horses remain at Terrazas Park. The vote by which the lower house of the Colorado Legislature passed the bill legalizing pari-mutuel betting on race tracks was thirty-nine to thirteen. Nat Rays jumpers recently went under the hammer at Toronto. Byzantine sold to J. Doane for 00: Bannock Bob went for 45; Kings Holidav for 05: Student King lor 15, and Steve Baldwin for 20. A Mr. Sllverwood purchased the last named. Those present at the recent meeting of the directors of the Crescent City Jockey Club at New Orleans were Alex Brewster, president, and Messrs. Ixmis A. Cella. C. A. Tllles. George C. Bennett. S. W. Adler and John ITaehmelster. "Racing is not dead In Louisiana," declared one of the directors after the meeting, "but I am convinced the dav of the iKjokniaker is past, and If racing is restored in those places where it once reigned it will be operated under the control of a state racing commission. I thoroughly believe that in the course of a few years racing will be restored, but I do not believo the bookmaker will figure."
