, WINDSOR STAKE RACES TO CLOSE. The Windsor Fair Grounds and Driving Park Association is in lino with its associate organizations of the Canadian circuit in its offerng of valuable stake races, wheh close for entries at midnight of Monday. May 1. In all it offers eleven events, of which live will be run at its first meeting, beginning July 15, and six at its second meeting, beginning August 2S. These stakes are all well known to horsemen and should be liberally patronized. Those for the first meeting arc: The Frontier Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, value ,500; 1 1-S miles. The Belle Isle Stakes selling, for three-year-olds and over, value ,200: 1 mile. The Pontchartrain Stakes selling, for three-year-olds and over, value ,200; 3-4 mile. The Edenwold Stakes, for two-year-olds, value ,-200; 5-8 mile. The Detroit Stakes selling, for two-year-olds, value ,200: 5 1-2 furlongs. The events set aside for the second meeting are the following: The D. B. I. and Windsor Ferry Co. Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, value ,500; 1 mile. The Windsor -Stakes selling, for three-year-olds and over, value .,200; 1 1-S miles. The St. Clair Handicap, for all ages, value ,200; 3-4 mile. The Essex Handicap, for two-year-olds, value ,-200: 5 1-2 furlongs. The Canadian Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, foaled in the Dominion of Canada, value ,200; 1 mile.
