A VETERAN KENTUCKY TRAINER. T. H. Stevens is one of the old-school Kentucky trainers. For thirty years or more lie has been raising and racing horses throughout the country, and he Is active aud energetic. He was lwrn on the farm in Madison County, Ky.. where Daniel Boone first settled and fought the Indians, and Mr. Stevens is proud of the fact. His father owned the historical farm before him and at his death passed it on. "I was never taken with the place much, though," said he, "because there was nt much chance to raise horses, so I sold out some time ago and bought another farm in old Kentucky, where I bred some horses which were genuine racers." Mr. Stevens has bred and raced such well-known thoroughbreds as Buckwa, Wyetb, Siddons and Ramus among others. He recently sold his breeding establishment in Kentucky, but still has about twenty broodmares. "They .say racing is in a decline," be said, "but I have been in it ever since I quit farming in Kentucky, and I guess 1 will go right on racing horses for the next thirty years. Its a grand sport, if properly regulated, and L know such an old game is not going to lay down and die just yet."
