, i .2 COLSTON MAY START IN CAMDEN. His Trainer Has Idea of Shipping Colt from Louisville to Lexington Today Training Gallops, Louisville. Ky., May 3. Colston was the only Derby candidate at the local tracks that was worked for speed this morning. He worked live-eighths pulled up. in 1:05J. He went the quarter in 24. three-eighths in 8Si and the half in 52. Trainer Raleigh Colston will likely take this son of Fili-grane to Lexington tomorrow morning and run him iu the Camden Handicap there in the afternoon, allowing him to stay at Lexington over night and shipping .him back here Sunday. His reason for shipping and mailing the horse the same day is because many of the horses sent from here to race at Lexington have been taken sick after they have been there several days. Colstons weight iu the Camden is 102 pounds. Should he win that event he will forfeit his maiden allowance of twelve pounds iu the Kentucky Derby. All the other Derby candidates were out as usual today, slow cantering exercise being all they were asked to do. The most sparkling bit of work was by the veteran Hanbridge. He worked five-eighths in 1:02J and was under restraint all the way to keep from running away from Sureget. which acted as his pacemaker. He ran the quarter in 23, three-eighths in 30 and the half in 40. Hanbridge never looked better and is working remarkably well this spring.
