CU BON ran in close pursuit of the pacemakers to the stretch turn, then finished fast and drew away in the last furlong. HATTERAS worked his way up on the outside from, a slow start and closed a big gap into a fast going and game second. MUTINEER ran well and was cut oft a couple of times by EDITH C. The latter set the pace to the stretch and tired. SAM RANK closed a big gap and so did DAY BELL. IRISH NORA and MARINER showed early speed. Scratched 95551 Betsy Trotwood, 105. ASTROLOGER began quickly and set the pace all the way, was on the outside until entering the homestretch and hung on resolutely in the final drive. PUCK ran forwardly throughout and outgamed NEW RIVER in the final drive. The latter met with no mishaps and has probablv been overrated. LITTLE PAL finished with a rush and so did VESTIBULE. GOLD PLATE fenced well and showed much speed all the way. but was tiring in the stretch and forced TIRO to the outside fence in the last furlong. The latter followed the leader until over the last Tence. then began closing up and was gaining gradually at the end. IIAWKWING went well and outgamed MYSTIC LIGHT in the final drive. BKGGARMAN lost his rider at the eleventh jump and KINGDOM his at the fifth. PALL MALL fell at the tenth and PRINCESS ERIS at the eighth. KARAGOLA broke down and was pulled1 up. DINNA KEN quickly look the lead and set a fast pace for a half mile, then finished gamely. CAVE ADSUM wore the tiring STANLEY FAY down in the homestretch and got up for third place in the last strides. STANLEY FAY showed speed, but failed to stay. The others were badly outpaced. The latter was under restraint while rounding the far turn and came wide when entering the homestretch, but finished witlt a rush into a gaining third. THE MONK loomed up menacingly in the stretch, but tired in the final drive. LIVE WIRE only ran moderately well. O. U. BUSTER ran a good three-quarters.
