The spring meeting of the Maryland Jockey Club, which opened at Piinlico April 29 and came to a • close May 17. embraced sixteen racing days, during which 10b races were decided. In addition the mile record was twice equaled. One of the performances, Watervales mile and sixty yards in A2h represents a new American record for that distance, superseding a new American mark made by Priseillian earlier in the meeting.
