June ft. — It is thought that there will be many horses racing creditably at I.atonia that cither raced indifferently or did not run at all during the Churchill Downs meeting. Hanbridge is one of the good horses that will be seen in action at the Kenton County track, as he has fully recovered from injuries sustained by rear- ing and falling while schooling at the harrier early in the meeting at the Downs, and his trainer. George Ham. is confident that he will have him ready to run in the ,000 Independence Handicap, scheduled for decision July 4. Another good horse thai has not raced for aoOBt a year is Dr. Waldo Briggs. ■ which, under careful handling by trainer Fred Lu zadcr. is now showing little soreness in bis work . and seems to have his ohl-tinie speed. Sigurd is 1 another member of J. It. Walawrurhte big stable that is training well and this likely three year old 1 probably will start in the ,000 Merchants Haiidi iap to be ran June 21. Trance also is going along promisingly. She will do some racing at Latonia and will, in trainer Lenders opinion, pick up some of the overnight handicaps and perhaps, turn out to be a factor in the ,000 Brewers Exchange Handicap to be run July 1. J. II. Meade has had trainer Lowe go along slowly with John Louis and confined his racing to sprints s at the Downs. This horse prefers a longer route e and he ahead be a sharp contender in the higher-, - priced selling races at LatOBia. Jim Basey. a Cali-. tornia three year-old, is also expected to give a good I account of himself at Latonia. Then there is Harrigan. which has not raced in i Kentucky this season, but is ready and sure to cut t in early at I.atonia. In addition to Harri- gan. Mr. Brandt has Angelus. Nethermost. The t Reach and his most recent acquisition. Cash on lie livery. Other horses not raced at Churchill Downs s that will be starters at Latonia are Attentive, Link ola. Boca Grande. Jeff Bernstein. Waldo, BUver Brush, Great Heavens, Ben Double, Romp, Tom Hay ward and Markie M. Henry McDaniel is now raining the sensational 1 Anion, joint holder with Donau of the American ree-1 ■ ord of 4»ifr for a half mile, and this good young ster will be among the juveniles at the Kenton " Country course. If he continues to train as satis-S : factorily as at present it is likely that lie will start for the ,000 Cincinnati Trophy. A meeting of this good two-year-old with Worth and The Manager will be interesting and should be productive " of one of the best juvenile contests of the season. : The speedy Collie Levy is again working well 1 and her injured foot seems to give her no trouble. She will hardly be a starter until the second week ; of the meeting and what racing she gets then will 1 be more in the nature of tightening her for the task of essaying the winning of the ,000 Brewers IX change Handicap July 1. Either Prince Gal or ,. Nimbus will race for G. M. Mom in the ,000 il Merchants Handicap June 21. The latter is train ing splendidly and will Sorely be ready to race e during the meeting, even if Mr. Odoaj does not t atari him in the Merchants Stakes. It is now v nearly a year since .Nimbus raced, but he is train i- ing soundly. The riling talenl available will be the best seen ii in recent years in this locality and among others will include: R. Goose. T. Rice J. Loftns. T. Koerner. ■- J. McCah.v. J. Allen, H. Skirvin. F. Hewitt. . It. Steele, A. Barton. E. Martin. A. Thomas. II. . Jones. J. Moore, C. Ross. J. Mclnlvre. B. Taplin. i. J. Wilson. C. Gan*. T. Hawes, G. Warren, A. . Walsh. .1. Howard. G. Mountain. T. McTaggart. N. Kennedy. J. Glass. E. Driiiij. J. Callahan. VV. Obert. J. R.K.ney and others. James Griffin brought Fairy Story and eight others s to Latonia. The Illinois trainer will not cull out his s string until the Latonia meeting is over as several 1 of the youngsters in his care have not been rally v tried yet.
