WHITNEY MARES RETURNED TO BROOKDALE. Leiiagtoa, Ky.. June 26. -Johnny Miller left here yesterday for Hrookdale Stud. Redbank. N. J., with three great thoroughbred mares and a suckling filly In-longing to Harry Payne Whitney. They are Art fill winner of the Futurity. Brighton Handicap. etc., and her suckling by Broomstick: Handspun dam of Tanya. Tangle, etc, and Green Veil sister to Burgomaster. These mares had been at August Belmonts Nursery Stud since April Jl and were all mated with Rock Sand, the "tripe crown" winner for which Mr. Belmont paid 25,000. It is reported here that Harry Payne Whitney has purchased all the yearling thoroughbreds at James R. Keeael OaStletOB Stud, and that it was for this reason they were not shipped to England last week. Maj. Foxhall A. Daiugertjeld. Mr. Keenes In-other in law. and manager of Oastleton Stud, said today that ho had no information ae to the authenticity of the report. "I bare received no advices from Mr. Keene relative to yearlings," said he, "since I was instructed last Wednesday fo annul the order tor cars and to keep the yearlings at Castleton."
