PRAISE FOR VANCOUVER RACING. One of the chief features of the racing at Minoru Park yesterday afternoon was the high prices paid upon some of the winners, and this in spite of the fa?t that the horses which were first past the, post were racers of no mean quality, but on the contrary had shown good form upon the track. The highest price paid during the afternoon was upon Don Enrique, where backers received 1911.sh2.20 for each investment. This in spite of the fact that Don Enrique established a track record only a few days previously. Heavy betting upon Colluet. winner of the Dominion Day Handicap, was one of the principle contributory causes to the big price which was paid. Tn the first raeo Freewill brought her backers 5.20 for each which they placed upon her. while this was followed in the next event by the victory of the Held, where Rcdondo, which was included in that selection of four, enriched his backers to the tune of !i little more than ten to one. Altogether the days sport was a most enjoyable one and reflected considerable credit upon those responsible for the compilation of the program and its administrations. The commendatory remarks which are daily heard in the grandstand und in the members paddock and club-i house indicate that the racegoers of Vancouver Fx thoroughly appreciate the efforts which are being L" made by the British Columbia Thoroughbred Associa-W tion and other organizations which are working in 1 conjunction with them to provide good sport.
