CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE PONTCHARTRAIN SELLING STAKES Since the Pontchartrain Stakes has been contested but four times prior to the present year it necessarily presents but few record points of value. Its fastest running took place last year, when Lady Irma. then in good form, defeated Denham in such fast time as 1:12. Being a selling race, owners adjust weights according to their own ideas and make it an affair of uncertain result. Its record is as follows: Year. First. Age. Jockeys. Wt. Second. Age. Wt. Third. Age. Wt Vnl. Time. 1007 Fantastic 3 Moreland. .101 Denham 3 9G C. Eastman 41.114 ,150 1:121 100S Billie Hlbhs 3 F. Burton. .100 Charlie Gilbert 4 110 Giles 3 02 1,150 1:13 1000 Merrick 0 S.
