An important sale of thoroughbreds was held at Kcnilworth Park this morning, when all the horses in training belonging to Stephen Sanford and Son of the Hurricana Stud at Amsterdam. N. Y.. were disiwsed of. Twenty-two were offered and they brought a grand total of 0,025. or an average of ,304, which is not at all bad when one considers the racing outlook. A large crowd was present and bidding on some of the choice offerings was spirited. Phil Ilyams, Frank Taylor, James McManus and John Evans figured in lively competition for Rockvillc. Mr. Evans, acting as agent for Joseph E. Seagram, president of the Ontario Jockey Club, secured the colt for ,200. There was also spirited bidding for Granite, and he finally went to Phil Hyams for ,000. Rail Parr. James McManus and Frank Taylor all appeared anxious to secure the colt. Mr. Ilyams also got a racy-looking filly in Bonnie Eloise, which lie secured for ,500. He also purchased Swarts Hill for ,000; Alooha for 00 and Cliff Top for 25. W. O. Joplin will handle these horses for him. II. C. Hallenbock secured Herkimer for $".,000. Frank Taylor came up from Saratoga to get the horse and was well satisfied with his bargain.
