MARTINOMAS ran in close pursuit for a half, but was tiring all through the last qnar- i tor. MAYFLOWER III., after being outrun to the stretch turn, easily disposed of the others for third place. EAGLE P.IRD drew away into a commanding lead in the first furlong and easily withstood ROGONS challenge while rounding tho far turn, then outstayed ELFIN BEAIT through the homestretch. The latter came through game- on the inside on the home turn and outstayed ROGON in the final drive. ROGON left the barrier in a tangle, but ran well. LADY IR.MA did not run well in the going. HIGH-BRIDGE was taken back early and saved behind the leaders, then moved up with a rush in the second time i.romid and drew away into an easy lead in the last half mile. ANDY CHISHOLM went well throughout mid outstayed HUGH AVYNNE in a close finish for second place. The latter came again in the last furlong and would have been second in another stride. JUDGE CRONIN lost bis rider at the twelfth jump and THAMES bis at the fourth. BISY, after setting tins early pace, was taken back and saved behind the leaders, then moved up rapidly after entering the homestretch, but had to be ridden out to outstay CONSOLE. The latter raced well and was slowly wearing the winner down at the end. MERMAN showed the most speed in the middle running and was a game contender all the way. CAST STEEL ran moderately well. The hitter was outpaced in the early running, but closed a big gap and finished with a rush. BEN LOYAL was well ridden, had no inlshans and led into the stretch, but iuit when the final drive came. FOREHEAD nut with early interference. MONTCALM ran well. CIIEKISH showed speed, but tired. MARTIN DOYLE and TOP NOTE ran poorly. The hitter began slowly, but steadily improved his position and finished fast and gamely. OUTLAN also began slowly, but iof-oil a big gap and finished with a rush. KATE KITTLEBERRY bolted to the outside fence while rounding the far turn, then closed a great gap. LITTLE EARL ran well. CniPPEWAYAN quit after setting llu once to the stretch.
