l FERN L. REDUCES BUTTE RECORD. Butte, Mont., August 15. II. G. BcdwcHs speedy Pajaroita made his initial appearance here in the chief attraction of the afternoon, an allowance race cl live furlongs, which was contested by a speedy lield. Post time found the BedwtIl crack a strong favorite and he scored a lueky win. Terns Trick, badly ridden in the linal racing, should have won quitu easily. Form was at a discount during the day, only one favorite succeeding in scoring. Frank G. Hogan, part owner of the Hogan and Keeno stable, arrived today and expressed himself as agreeably surprised over the magnitude of the sport here. The judges recommended to the Pacific Jockey Club today that the license of jockey J. MeBrido be revoked, the easy win of Fern L. in the third race intluencing them in taking this action. For an unsatisfactory ride on Terns Trick in the feature race of the day jockey McCulIough was suspended and a thorough investigation is to lie made of the race. Fern L. in winning tiie fifth race reduced the existing track record for one mile and twenty yards by one second and a fifth when she ran the distance in 1:41 J. At a sale held in lie paddock today the following horses were sold: Parlor Boy, 25. to .1. E. Edwards: Wliidden. .25, Harry Fink; Star Actor, 50. I. A. Murphy: Anne Revere, 30, T. II. Stevens; Sainodious, K, 12. Regan.
