MAY PROVIDE A TEST CASE. Ballston. N. Y., August 24. On the charge that they had bet one dollar on a race at the Eastern New York Trotting Circuit meeting here yesterday, R. II. Spence, of Schenectady, and Patrick McKIn-ney. of Rotterdam Junction, were arrested. C. M. Gridley, of Schenectady, was also arrested, the complainant against all three being Fred Turner, who alleges that he saw McKiuney and Spence bet on the race and place the stakes in Gridleys hands. The men were held on a charge of gambling.
