GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., August 24. Amos Turney and John J. MeCafferty today bought seven thoroughbred yearlings and will add four or five more to the string in the next day or two. From G. D. Wilson they bought a chestnut colt by Stalwart Northumbria, a bay colt by Stalwart Torrid and a brown colt by Marta Santa Tin Cup; from Charles W. Moore a bay colt by McGee Josie L. and a bay filly by McGee Interview, and from 0. H. Chenault a chestnut colt by Russell La Tour and a chestnut colt by Russell Sister to Flying Dutchman. When the purchases have been completed, Mr. McCalTerty will take the youngsters to the Kentucky Association course, remain here all winter and beght a campaign with the local 1912 spring meeting. Col. Milton Young, vice-chairman of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, has been appointed judge of the thoroughbred horse rings at the Ohio State Fair and will leave for Columbus Sunday night.
