t RACING FOLK GATHER AT WINDSOR. Detroit, Mich., August 24. The clans are beginning to gather for the autumn races which start at Windsor next Monday and continue the usual seven days permissible under the Canadian racing law. While the summer meeting at Windsor broke all records for attendance at that track, next weeks program is expected to attract still larger crowds. Detroit will bo filled to overilowing with convention guests and with the natural inclination of local people to patronize the sport to a larger extent In the fall than in the summer the coming meeting will undoubtedly prove most successful of any ever held here. It is expected that as many as thirty-eight or more books will attend to the wants of the speculators. That number did business during the Hamilton meeting and it is regarded as a surety that betting will be quite as animated across the river. The officials during the coming meeting will be the same as during the summer meeting. Charles F. Price of Kentucky and Francis Nelson of Toronto will be In the judges stand, Fred Gerhardy Will serve as clerk of the scales, A. B. Dade as starter; and, the judges and Walter O. Parmer as handicappers. , . Secretary Walter O. Parmer has announced the weights for the D., B. I. and W. Handicap, ,500 added, one mile and a sixteenth, to be run on the opening day. S. C.
