CREDITABLE RACING OF AMERICAN BRED HORSES I INI ENGLAND : Over in England in the period from July S to August 17, inclusive, Auierlcau-bred horses were placed In fifty-nine races, of which they won twenty-three. The Sale Stakes, won at Newmarket by Kempion, and the Richmond Stakes, won at Goodwood by Sweeper II., were the most important events captured, but the Beaufort Handicap, won by Oversight at Newmarket: Montrose Handicap, won at Ayr by Ruddy Sheld-Drake; Park Haudicap, won at Hurst Park by Dalmatian, his only victory In England so far; Brighton High Weight Handicap, won by Matelot at .Brighton; August Handicap, won at Ayr by Hillside, and the Prince of Wales Plate, won by Election at Leicester, are all sufficiently valuable to render their winning desirable to any owner, especially in that part of the summer when, except at Goodwood, no racing of prime importance occurs. All things considered. American horses have done very well in England this year and more than one English owner takes comfort in their possession.
