ANOTHER STUD TO BE DISPERSED. I. H. Whcatcroft to Send All His Horses to Australia to Be Disposed Of. Lexington, Ky., September 2. Irving II. Wheat-croft today confirmed the report that he is awaiting arrangements to export his St. .Tames Stud of thoroughbreds to Australia, disperse them at auction sale in Sydney or Melbourne and quit the turf. Mr. Whcatcroft has contracted witli a transportation company for space for 150 head of horses on a boat sailing from Vancouver. 15. C. October 2S. He has now in the St. James Stud sixty mares, forty foals and ten stallions, including St. Savin, Cesarion and Don Royal, and ho will either buy outright or make some partnership arrangements with other breeders for the remaining forty bead necessary to fill the space on the boat. Mr. Wheatcrofts decision to quit and go to some distant market is due to his belief that the turf In this country cannot recover within five years or more from the blow which has been struck by the so-called reformers in New York and other states.
