BABY WOLF showed much speed in the going and sot a fast pace, but tirel lit the last sixteenth. COLD SPRING, off slowly, gained steadily and, closing a big gap, was wearing the leaders down at the end. RYE STRAW and WORTH showed speed, but both tired and probably were .short. BWANA TUMBO, a good mud runner, drew away into an easy lead in the first quarter and. leading all the way, won in a canter. FLOWER GIRL ran well, but tired and swerved over to the inside in the homestretch. SUNLIKE ran a good race, but tired in the final drive and may improve. TACTICS, after being shullled back on the turn ont of the backslretch and taken wide on" the home turn, finished fast. FLAMMA gained steadily from a slow start and outgaiued SADIE SHAPIRO for third place. The latter ran well and was favored by the going. AVEKNUS finished fast. FANCIIETTE showed speed, but quit. MICHAEL ANGELO, under slight restraint, followed the leaders closely for the lirst six furlongs and appeared dangerous in the stretch, but tired after disposing of CHEPONTUC. The latter moved up with, a rush while rounding the far turn and took the lead, but was tiring at the end. CAST STEEL ran a good race. ROBERT COOPER ran prominently to the stretch and tired. ANIMUS made the middle running and tired in the stretch. MERMAN set the early pace and quit badly in the last half. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,010 and sold to J. W. Hedrick. !
