BALLOT TO SERVE IN ENGLAND. Information to the effect that James R. Kcenea splendid young horse. Ballot, has been ordered to be shipped to England served among other rumors, to revive last summers report that he had been, or was to be. sold to the German government for service in the royal. Gradltz Stud. By way of home news from abroad it now appears that Ballot has been ordered to England to become a stud mate of Colin at Newmarket. It would now be not at all surprising to hear presently that Mr. Keene had ordered some of his choice broodmares sent over also, with tho view of establishing a replica of Castleton Stud in his native land. As to Ballot, a recent edition of London Sporting Life, says: "James R. Keene has given instructions for Ballot to be shipped forthwith to England. I understand that the son of Voter will stand next season at the Heath Stud Farm, Newmarket, where Colin has been for the past two seasons. Ballot was a great performer in his native laud, and much was expected of him when he came over with Colin In 1909. For some reason or other he never quite settled down to racing In this country, though he won the Select Stakes, beating Valene, Succour and St. Victrix. He returned to America, and has, I believe, been in training until recently. Many of our best judges consider him a better-looking horse than Colin. It may be remembered that about two months ago a report gained currency that Ballot had been purchased by the Prussian government. There was, however, no foundation for the statement."
