WINTRY CONDITIONS AT MARLBORO. Washington, D. C, November 13. It was winter racing in earnest at the Marlboro track this afternoon, as there was a big drop in the temperature last night. Yet a large crowd braved the cold weather to witness the running of the seven races that made up the card today. This was the first dav of the extension and from now on until the end of the week the meeting will be held under the auspices of the Marlboro Horse Show Association. The track was again heavy, owing to rain that fell yesterday, and the result was that the sport was Tather tame. The backers of favorites fared badly, rts Muskmelon. which had been backed from G to 5 to 3 to 5, was the only winning first choice. W. P. Burch has left for Columbia, S. C. and will have the horses owned by himself. Samuel Ross and W. C. Lust Is shipped to that place in a io.vr days. He will race, them at Columbia and afterwards at Charleston. W. B. Carson today sold Smirk and Dacia to C. Savage and they ran in the latters name and Interest.
