GOSSIP FROM BLUE GRASS REGION. Lexington, Ky., November 13. nenry McDanicl sent from here yesterday to j6in the Latonia shipment to Juarez the four-year-old bay colt. Setback, and eleven yearlings that his nephew, "Tiny" Scofield, broke for him at the Kentucky Association track. The best-looking of these yearlings Is a chestnut colt by Marta Santa Arthesia. He was bred nnd is owned by George C. Bennett, of Memphis, and is a really good racing prospect. There is a chestnut colt by .Golden Garter Fair Empress that Mr. McDaniel bought out of the consignment of F, D. Knight to the Kentucky Sales Companys auction last September for and he looks to be tho making of a good one. Others in the string are: Chestnut colt by Fatherless Nlola, by Eolus; chestnut filly, by Box Dinah Shad; chestnut colt, by Stalwart Two Heart, by Likely; chestnut colt, by Cesarion Marshetta, by Falsetto; bay filly, by Ce-sarion Pleasant Girl, by Order; bay filly, by Peep oDay Grace Commoner, by The Commoner; chestnut filly, by Russell Option, by Glengarry; bay colt, by Stalwart Tea Gown, by Free Knight, and chestnut colt by Star Shoot Real Lace. Amon, Delaney, Anne McGec, Lady Nutc and Woolwinder, comprising the remainder of the McDaniel string, will be shipped direct from Latonia to Juarez. Robert L. Thomas is now making his home In this citv and goes every morning to his lumber business at Winchester and Ford by train, returning each afternoon. His horses are now at the Kentucky Association track in charge of J. Tandy Hughes. Ho has not decided whether or not they will be raced this winter. Max A. Silvers, whose business is buying thoroughbreds for export to South American countries, has advised a local friend that he sailed from Valparaiso, Chili, last Wednesday for Lexington to buy thoroughbred yearlings and broodmares. Jockey A. Thomas has written to a friend in this city that he is doing well in Russia, whither he went in September. At the time of the writing ho had been in the country about a fortnight and had ridden eleven winners.
