THRIFTY raced CHILTON SQUAW into defeat in the first live furlongs and gamely withstood IIANDRBN-NINGS challenge at the end. The latter began slowly, but gained steadily and -was wearing the leader down at the linish. CHILTON SQUAW set the pace to the stretch and finished gamely, but tiring. GAY DECEIVER closed a big gap and finished fast. DUFFIELD was badly outrun for the first two turns of the field, but finished with a good burst of speed. DR. The latter moved up with a rush while rounding the far turn but tired after getting to the leader. CAPSIZE ran well, but could never get up. BEAUCOUP ran fairly well. LOCHIEL took the lead at once and, setting a fast pace, was in the best going all the way. KORMAK ran well, but was tiring at the end. BLACKKFORD quit after going a good six furlongs and his race should be thrown out. IDLE-AYE ISS also ran poorly.
