MARLBORO MANAGEMENT DENIES REPORT. Give Out Telegram to Effect That No Action Has Been Taken Against Meeting. Washington, D. C, November 14. The racing at Marlboro this afternoon was by far the best of the meeting, even though the track was still heavy, as there were many close finishes with the results in doubt until the last stride. The closing race brought one of the best contests, for when the judges stand was reached, the four leading horses were heads and necks apart. Koroni won the opening dash by a short head, while Ornamosa beat Warner Griswell a similar margin in the fifth race. Although Republican was the only winning favorite, the layers had a bad day, as the winners all had strong support. The reiort sent out from Norfolk to the effect that horses and horsemen racing at Marlboro wonK be barred by tho Jockey Club is held here to bo without substantial basis, as shown by the following telegram received today from Dr. Hill, who went to New York on behalf of the association: "Had personal interview with Algernon Daingerfield, assistant secretary of the Jockey Club, who says positively that no action has fieen taken adverse to tho Marlboro Horse Show Association and that the meeting can continue as advertised." Tho management also issued a long statement in which they assured all racing here that should the Jockey Club take any stand against the continuation of the meeting at Marlboro, they would post notices thereof immediately. There was an accident during the running of the first race when Jack Bourdette was crowded against the rail and thrown on the far turn. For a time It was thought his rider. Don, was seriously injured, but he regained consciousness and later was found to 10 little injured. The judges indefinitely suspended Wilson, the rider of Jiu Jitsu, for the unsatisfactory manner in which he bundled his mount.
