CRITICISE MANAGEMENT AT D0NC ASTER. Municipal ownership does not meet with- popular approval, so far as Doncaster is concerned. Tho course of the St. Leger and the stands and enclosures are the property of the corporation, the racing, of course, being under license from the Jockey Club. The annual complaint now thirty" years old is made that the charges for the public are extortionate, the buildings mean, uncomfortable and inadequate, and the Town Moor, where the races are run. ill-kept. On the other hand, praise is accorded another municipally-owned course, that of Yarmouth, whose race committee arc continually striving to please their patrons. These latter this year included King George V. and his majesty had some success at the meeting Inst month in this pleasant Suffolk town. His two-year-old filly, name Flower, won the Gorleston Nursery Handicap. Flame Flower is a daughter of Florizel II.. the first good horse King Edward VII. owned. King George has hail only a moderate share ot success in his first year on the turf, winning four races of a total value ot about ,010. It was at Doncaster that he scored first, taking the Fitzwilliam Stakes with Pintadeau. Mirabeau won tho Princess Plate at Newmarket, and Dorando the Bottisham Plate at the same place. All but Dorando are two-year-olds, so that the royal stable includes some good material for next season.
