NOTES OF THE TURF. Breeders and horse owners throughout the country will be interested in the announcement just made by Victor M. Schaumberg, secretary of the Coney Island Jockey Club, that the Futurity of 1913 and 1914 will be opened for nominations at the usual time, June 1, next. Watcrcolor, one of the stallions placed by the Jockey Club at the service of breeders in New York state, will this year winter at Syracuse, In care of Troop D.. of the State Guard, and will be used by the troop to mate with mares owned by its members. All of his produce In the state has lieen purchased by the troop for remounts. Watcrcolor, a handsome black horse, oiice sold for 0,000, and, among other great races, won the Century Handicap. Jockey Willie Shaw, who has been riding in Germany, Austria and Hungary for several years, has returned to this country. Shaws employer, Prince Hohenlohe, maintains a great breeding establishment in Germany, and sends mares to Kngland to be mated, after which they are taken back to their own country. Witli a lilly called Landluft, Shaw won the Austrian Prize, . value 0,000, for Prince Hohenlohe. The jockey declares Landluft can give ten pounds to any colt in Austria or Germany.
