LATONIA WELL NIGH DESERTED. Comparatively Few of Horses That Recently Raced There- Remain at Kentucky Course. Cincinnati, O., November 10. With the departure today of the racing strings owned by H. C. Hallen-beck and John W. Schorr, the Latonia track is pretty well divested of horses. Those still quartered at the course are owned by horsemen who have not fully matured their plans for winter operations or those awaiting more definite news relative to Havana and Charleston prospects. The Hallenbcck and Schorr consignments went to Louisville, where they go Into winter quarters at Douglas Park. The lot embraces representative material that cut a wide swath in American racing this season. The acknowledged champion Worth, in the Hallenbcck stable, will bo allowed to roam for some time in the paddocks of the Greenbcrg farm near Louisville before being put back in training. He will be the logical winter favorite for the Kentucky Derby of 1012, for which event trainer Taylor will point him. Adams Express, Stinger, Housemaid and Azyiade are others In the Hallenbcck consignment that will be rested during the winter. The Schorr shipment included Star Charter, winner of the Latonia Endurance Stakes, Froglegs, Edda, John Keardon, Senator Sparks, Tom Hayward and Hamilton. It is the intention of Mr. Schorr to add to these next spring by the purchase of several youngsters that may show up to advantage. Todays departures also included the twenty-six horses owned by R. F. Carman and the horses in charge of trainer William Karrick that are owned by Messrs. II. K. Knapp and F. R. Hitchcock. The big shipment went by special train to Aiken, S. C. where they will rest until the opening of racing at Charleston. S. C.. The entire Carman stable will race at Charleston and so will several of trainer Karricks charges. Several cars of miscellaneously owned horses were shipped yesterday and today to Norfolk, where they will be raced. Among those still at Latonia aro the horses of W. O. Joplin, G. H. Marlman and A. J. Gorey. They are Intended for Havana racing and will likely be sent to New Orleans to embark there by steamer for the Cuban capital. C. E. Hamiltons sturdy campaigner. Stone Street, has probably terminated his racing career for all time, as he came out of the Latonia Endurance: Stakes in such bad condition that it is doubtful if he will again stand training. General Manager John Hachmeister is still actively engaged in closing up matter connected with the past season oi racing and will be here until about the first of January.
