RUSHING WORK AT CHARLESTON. Charleston, S. C, November 1C. At West, in the suburbs of Charleston, where the Charleston Fair and Racing Association owns a tract of 10S acres of land, the work of building a modern race course is being pushed as rapidly as possible. Forty teams are at work grading the course and this number will shortly be doubled. Work has already begun on the quarters for the horses and something like fifty stalls have been completed. The stalls are being pushed to completion as rapidly as possible in order to accommodate the thoroughbreds which will begin arriving here within the course of the next two weeks. Accommodations for 800 horses will le available by the time the race meeting opens in January.
