MANY HORSES .AT- LEXINGTON." Owners to Tarry There Awhile Before Departure for Various Winter Tracks. Lexington, Ky., November 16. Arrivals from Latonia have swelled the total of horses on the grounds of the Kentucky Association to 300 head, this number including many yearlings. However, but few of the older horses in training will remain here fgr the entire winter, as J. N. Camdens string is the only important one which will not do some racing on one of the winter tracks. T. C. McDowell will take a number of his. horses to Havana, Cuba, but most of the stables will go to Charleston. Among the strings which arrived from Latonia was that of J. N. Camden, in charge of trainer Jack Kcene. In the stable of the Woodford county turfman were Wheelwright, Merode, Bonne Chance, Batwa and others. Mr. Keono does not intend to do any winter racing and will keep his horses here during the cold weather. Besides the horses he has been racing he has Praetorian, Boola Boola and on or two others turned out at Harland Stud, as well as a band of yearlings that trainer Clem Pierce has had at the local track for some time past. W. L. Lewis was another arrival. Jack Baker came with Jeff Bernstein and the horses of J. C. Milam, including the veteran Merrick, John Furlong and the two-year-old Morristown, the medium of a good killing by Mr. Milam and his friends a short while ago. Mr. Milam will take his horses to Charleston, S. C. about January 1 to race there. Green B. Morris, one of the oldest trainers now racing came in with Jenny Geddes and one or two others. He will rest here a short while and then go to Charleston. John Rodegap. another veteran of many years on the turf, was also an arrival. He has seven good campaigners, including Handzaretta, Hazel Burke. Rose Oneil, and Billiken. He intends to go to Charleston. S. K. Hughes came in with Ethel Samson, Andra-josa and others and may take them later to the South Carolina city. W. L. Lewis, Gallaher Bros, and Tandy Hughes have also arrived. In the Gallaher string are Toison dOr, Irishtown, Rash. Clearwater and others. They already have eight or nine head at the track, mostly yearlings. W. J. Young came with Detect, Henry Hutchison, Manager Mack, Aviator and one or two others. Mr. Young Intends to race at Charleston, as does D. Riley, who arrived with Leamenco. Will Wallace, with his good colt. Duquesne, also arrived, and he also will go to Charleston. Pat Donnelly is here with Ethel D., as are Dillard Hill with Grover Hughes, Bob Co, Austin Sturtevant and one or two others, and Walter Grater, with Ethelda, Sir Blaisp and Oreen. C. D. Chenaults good gelding, Milton B.. is also among the recent arrivals. Three of the biggest stables that have arrived wilt leave in about two weeks for Havana, Cuba, where they will race this winter. These are the stables of Gallaher Bros., T. C. McDowell and J. W. May. Mr. McDowell has in bis stable one of the best two-year-olds of the year. The Manager, and Star Jasmine. Affable, lima. True Blue, all two-year-olds except lima, and ten highly-bred yearlings, sisters and brothers and half-sisters arid half-brothers to the useful crop of two-year-olds racing this year that were bred at Ashland Farm. In the May stable are Sea Cliff, Miss Wiggs, Slim Princess and Light O M Life. Countless has "been sent to Nashville, the home of his owner, John G. Greener. Mr. May has eighteen yearlings at the Lexington track.
