WINNERS OF THE YEAR IN FRANCE. The full statistics of the French fiat-race season have now been published, and they disclose a very prosperous state of affairs. Two three-year-olds are at the head of the winning horses, As dAtout having placed the sum of i93,923 to the credit of his owner, the Marquis dc Ganay, aud Alcantara II., belonging to Baron do Rothschild, has won ,C15. Basse Pointe, the winner of the Prix du Conseil Municipal, comes third on the list with a sum of SG2.S70. Of the two-year-olds, Mr. W. K. Vanderbllts Montrose II. has done best, winning 1.!S0. Other horses that have won over 5,000 during the .season are Badajoz. Combourg. Faucheur, Ossian, La Francaise, Dor, Tripolette, aud Sablonnet; while there are about 120 that have won over ,000. Cbancelien conies next with a score of ill, while Duforez has ridden 25 winners at country meetings, Floch, 24, and L. Robert 21. M. II. de Royer and M. Cros-souard divide honors among gentlemen riders with cine wins each. M. II. de Gaste is next with eight successful mounts and the Marquis de Fraguier follows on with six. The stallion list is particularly interesting, Perth, by the aid of Alcantara II.. being at the head thereof with a total of 5S,i!45. lie is closely pressed by Maedonald II.. the sire of As dAtout, with 55,835. Other stallions whose produce have won over 5,000 during the current season, are Siinon-ian, Rabelais, Bay Ronald, Le Sagittaire. Elf, Gost. Maintenon, Ex Voto, Gardefeu, Son o Mine, Maximum, Ajax, William the Third, Codoman, Madcap. Fourire, Childwick. Cliambertin, Delaunay. Several of these horses had distinguished careers on the turf in England. Last year Simouian was at the head of the stallion list with 0,000 more to bis credit than that standing against the name of Perth this season, but the general totals were less.
