TRIAL OF HILDP.ETH YEARLINGS. New York, November 20. Charles Kohlers three yearlings were worked a quarter in :24 by trainer Samuel C. Hildreth, over a heavy track at Shecps-liead Bay. The trial was impressive and indicated that the juveniles are a promising lot. Shilling was up on Beethoven, a bay colt by Broomstick Sans Peur. Broadwood, a bay colt by Voter Wild Thyme, carried about 105 pounds, and Chopin, a bay gelding by The Scribe Torchlight, was mounted by a lad weighing 125. Beethoven, running straight and true, finished first a half length in advance of Broadwood, with Chopin right there. The latter cut out the early puce, but was overhauled a hundred yards from the finish by the others. Broadwood was last until Hearing the end, when be closed in a resolute manner that speaks well for his future.
