BARR, showing sudden improvement, followed SAI50 BLEND closely to the last furlong, where he gradually . overhauled him and won drawing clear. SABO BLEND showed the most early speed and, after setting 8 .1 fust pace, held on gamely in the final drive. AGNIER, from a slow beginning and after going wide, iiii-isiied with a rush and almost got up. MASON began slowly and was gaining at the end. SIR EDWARD 3 rr,n well to the stretch and quit. LADY McGEE. much the best, was shuffled back to last at the start and taken wide for the entire race, but closed a big gap and, linishing with a rush, won drawing clear. EXCALIBUR ran forwardly from the start and, finishing fast and gamely, might have won if his rider had made his move earlier. CHRISTMAS DAISY was prominent all the way. CHARLIE OBRIEN showed much speed and set the pace for the first half, but tired in the last furlong. The others were always outpaced. Scratched 00021 Shrove, 10S. NADZU began slowly but, closing a big gap in the stretch, was going fastest at the end and would have won in a few more strides. GOLCONDA was well up throughout, but tired in the final furlong.
