PRODDING THE LEGISLATURE. Charleston, S. C, December 7. The South Carolina i Methodist Conference has put itself on record as ? vigorously opposing Charlestons race track, and I l- will request the Legislature to pass such laws as will make it impossible to have horse racing in South Carolina. Rev. Peter Stokes, of Charleston, introduced a resolution, which was adopted, condemning racing and asking the Legislature to prevent it.
