FORT ERIE STALLS WELL FILLED Buffalo N Y July 25 The second and final meeting of the season at the Fort Erie track to begin next Saturday and continue one week from that day will be marked by the running of four stakes several valuable overnight races and a number of steeplechase contests The best there is in the thoroughbred line will take part and some fine sport is looked for It will be the last oppor ¬ tunity local lovers of the thoroughbred will liaVv to indulge in their favorite sport and like the first gathering held during the early part of the month should attract record breaking crowds and should be productive of fine sport sportAt At present there is no racing in Kentucky and the best of the horses representing the blue grass region will be here to try for the purses The horses that took part in the recent Windsor meeting will prac ¬ tically all be here There were a number of stables that did not ship to the Detroit track the trainers preferring to keep their charges here and give them thorough ErieThe preparations for tho racing at Fort Erie The outstanding feature at the coming meeting will he of course the 5000 Dominion Handicap This race drew sixtytwo nominations among them being practically all the best horses in training from three years old and up It will be decided on the opening day dayVirtually Virtually all of the horses that will participate in the racing are now on hand as well as the jockeys 4vho have been riding at other Canadian meetings meetingsThe The roster of officials for the meeting will be identical with that for the meeting recently held at this track as follows followsSteward Steward E W Maginn Presiding MaginnPresiding Judge Francis Nelson NelsonAssociate Associate Judge W Horace Lerch MaginnStarter Racing LerchRacing Secretary and Ilandicapper E W Maginn Starter A B Dade DadeClerk Clerk McLennanTimer of the Scales Joseph McLennan Timer E W Mills MillsPaddock Paddock Judge F Elmore
