sport centered in the running of the second race in which the crack two vcsjrulils Calgary and Leoehares met The former owned by Robert Davies a Toroutonian had a large local following and despite his two previous defeats bv the Schorr colt Calgary had a great following and went to the post a wellbacked favorite On tlit two previous occasions when they met Calgary was conceding weight to Leochares They met at ciiial weights this afternoon and this coupled with the fact that the going at Woodbine was supposed to suit the Canadian colt better than that at the Montreal track was in a great measure responsible for the heavy support accorded him In the early rmiiiin Calgary dashed to the front and showing a real flight of speed led by n comfortable margin While rounding the far turn Loochares moved up on tly outside and caught him and in the long drive through the homestretch the pair fought it out t algary always had a slight advantage until the last stride when Leocharos managed to poke his nose in front The lirst half mile was run in 47 47Teahann Teahann duplicated his skilful ride in the follow ¬ ing dash in which he had the mount on Star Charter He reserved the Schorr horse permitting Inspector IxLstrade and Sotemia to lead him until well inside the tinal furlong where ho began to m vc up on the outside The linal drive was a trrrilic one and Star Charter linisliing straight and true just did manage to beat Sotomia a nose noseThe The tabled history of the Toronto Autumn Cup is as follows Year Winner AWt Jockey Val Time 1012 Janice 4 4100 IOC J Daly 070158
