THE WOODFORD SHIPMENT TO GERMANY Lexington Ky September 21 Through the de ¬ cision of President Catesby Woodford of the Ken ¬ tucky Association and master of tho Itaceland Stud of thoroughbreds to sell thirtyfour of his brood ¬ mares sixteen yearlings and twelve weanlings 11 Germany the running turf in America will suffer another severe loss lossTheso Theso horses are to bo shipped from Paris Ky to New York on Wednesday next September 25 and they will leave New York on one of the Atlantic Transport Companys steamships on the following Saturday September 28 for Hamburg from whence they will go to Hoppegarten to be sold by auction during tho latter part of October under the auspices of the German Jockey Club and under the immedi ¬ ate direction of Mr George Ehlors editor of the Deutchos Sport Tho shipment from Kentucky to Hoppegarton will bo under the supervision of PUil T Chinn ChinnThis This shipment is one of the best collection of mares ever exported from America to be sold by auction in any European country said Mr Chinn in discussing those thoroughbreds They arc all excellently bred perfectly sound young healthy mares and they are all in foal to such good sires as Star Shoot Plaudit Disguise Peter Pan and Marta Santa Tho marcs are by Hastings Bon Brush All ert Meddler Knight of the Thistle Haimver Sir Dixou Voter Sempronius Sweetheart St Carlo Teuton Star Shoot Hindoo Goldfinch Flying Dutchman and Onoka Tho yearlings and weanlings to bo shipped arc by Hastings Filigrauy Woolsthorpo Miller Star Shoot Plaudit Cesarion and Stalwart and they are an excellent looking lot They will compare favorably with any thor ¬ oughbreds of their ages in this country today
