J E MADDEN PLANS KENTUCKY CAMPAIGN Lexington Ky May 55 J 13 Madden Americas most extensive breeder of thoroughbred horses will this spring take bis stable of racers to Churchill Downs for the first time in many seasons His string will be shipped from Lexington in time for the opening of the Downs meeting Saturday May 10 and will ran on the Kentucky tracks this season until the curtain is rung down on the spring and Mimnicr season at Latonia Saturday July a When HI fa won the Kentucky Oaks race in 1XVJ she was the last racer to carry Maddens colors at the Downs until the present season The year previous in ISiS Madden won the Kentucky Derby and Clark Stakes with the noted Plaudit Several years later for one or two seasons Madden had quite a string wintering at Churchill Downs but during each of these years his horses were shipped to the metro ¬ politan tracivH before the lyonisvillc spring racing season begun The bulk of Maddens string this yoHtion are three and two yearolds which have is yet to oHrn a racing reputation They are all royally bred and highly tried in private and he will no doubt win bis share of nices at Churchill Downs Douglas Park and Latonia this seasoiK
