BELIEVES MUTUELS HAVE COME TO STAY Baltimore Md May 10 II D Brown was a visitor at Pimlico a day or two ago He watched the operation of the mutuels with much interest He said that the mutuels probably would not be put MI at Laurel next fall but he believed they would eventually drive out the bookmakers everywhere As he expressed it the mutuels have conic to Hay HayMr Mr Brown Is a believer in limiting the profits of race tracks After taking out a fair percentage on the capital he believes the balance should be put back in bigger purses and stakes or in a fair such us lu Is operating at Laurel where the whole com ¬ munity would derive some benefit benefitMr Mr Browns views in this matter are in accord with those long held by Thomas Clyde the man be ¬ hind the gun at Pimlico Mr Clyde is strong for limiting the profits of the race track to a reasonable return on the capital and allowing the public in Koine form to share the balance
