ANOTHER CHAMPION FROM 0AKVILLE. Toronto, Ont., October 1. Having raced all season without a defeat, and decisively establishing his claim to he the best Canadian-bred two-year-old. Harry Githlings Beehive has received the final Kings Ilate preparation of ids two-year-old form. With about 113 imiiiiuIs up he worked a mile at Woodbine In 1:42. the first half in :40 and three-quarters in aliout 1:15. Hearts of Oak did not equal this at the same age, and the first mile in the Ilate race last spring was not as fast by two-lifths of a second, so that the prospects of the guineas going to Oakville again next year seem to be dependent wholly on Beehive keeping well. Having produced the winner of this years Plate, and with an apparent "cinch" on next years guineas, the resources of Cedar Grove Farm are by no means exhausted. The yearling due to succeed Beehive and Hearts of Oak is In tlie same stable. His name is Wetbeck. aud lie Is a brother to Beehive, being by Bassetlaw My Honey. Welbeck is the ancestral home of the Duke of Portland, owner of St. Simon, tlie greatest stock horse of modern times, and sire of Bassetlaw, and the yearling is a slashing colt, with the same good maimers as his brother and the same speed. He has lieen taken around most of the season with the older horses ami given such training as was needed for one of bis age. On Saturday last at Woodbine he worked a tpiarter of a mile in :23, and pulled up half a mile in :51.
