rEN POINT REGAINS EOM A. L. ASTES GOOD THREE-YEAR-OLD WINS VALUABLE STAKE AT LAUREL. Carries Top Weight of 127 Pounds to Victory in Baltimore Handicap All Gold an Absentee Because of Lack of Registration. Baltimore. Aid., October 4. A. L. Astes good three-year-old. Ten Point, made his re-appearance at Laurel this afternoon after an absence of a considerable time. He was a starter in the valuable Baltimore Handicap, in which he carried the trying impost of 127 pounds and showed that he has regained the form he displayed at Havre de Grace last spring when he was rated one of the best threi-year-olus in the country. In todays race Ten Point made all of the pace and won handily from Barne-gat. The race was robbed of much of its interest when Harry Payne Whitneys All Gold was withdrawn. All Gold was a stable companion of Whisk Broom II. in Kngland and was a High-priced Eng-Hsh-bred yearling. He was given special preparation for todays race by James Rowe at the Whitney farm In New Jersey and would have been backed to beat Ten Point. It was discovered at the last moment that All Gold had not been registered in this country. James Rowe claimed that Dr. AlcCully had registered the horse several days ago, but the Jockey Club records did not show such to be the case and there was nothing left for the stewards to do but order him scratched. Trade .Mark and Dartworth, from the stable of J. L. Holland, both of which won, were bid up by Albert Simons, the former from to ,200, and the latter from 00 to ,200. They were retained by their owner. James Butler evidently has had glowing reports from trainer Dick Benson of his yearlings quartered at his farm near White Plains. New York. He and his attorney had an interview with jockey Butwcll this afternoon, the result of whicli was that terms were practically agreed upon between Air. Butler and Butwcll for next season. The only stipulation is that Butwcll shall not be required to ride during the winter mouths. It Is said that Butwells retainer will be something over ,000, with the usual fees for winning aud losing mounts. Fred Alusante has retired from racing. Hci dis posed of Votes to Aliss A. AL Aiarrone for and Strenuous to Herman Alocsel for ,500. J. Parodi secured Arran for 0O. . ItandJa t expected that Santo Sotille, on his arrival here, will clear up the atmosphere regarding the plapn of tjie Charleston Fair and Racing Association for the coming winter meeting. A great number of eastern horsemen are anxious to participate in the meeting at Palmetto Park and already several have announced their intention of sending their stables there provided proper inducements in the way of purses and an open ring are offered. A. G. Weston will take several of It. T. Wilsons horses to the South Carolina track and It. F. Carman will go down wiht his big string. J. W. Langdon has arranged to send the Alesservy horses to Charleston and It is possible that Albert Simons will go with a division of the Harry Payne Whitney stable.
