LATONIAS EXCELLENT PROSPECTS; Cincinnati, O., October 4. In view of the good horses available, it may be expected Latonia will have a remarkably successful meeting this fall. In addition to the stables now quartered at Louisville, there will be several imiortant eastern arrivals at Latonia and a number of horses from Canada will also be on hand for this the closing meeting of the Kentucky fall circuit. The meeting at Latonia will be the longest of the fall meetings in Kentucky this year, being scheduled for eighteen racing days, beginning on Monday, October 20, and ending on Saturday, November 8. Tills track always has more horses to call on in the fall of the year than any other racing point. There are always eastern strings that make Latonia for this meeting that do not visit any of the other Kentucky rtacks. It is not improbable that great three-year-olds like Hawthorn. Helios. Floral Park, Horron, Solar Star and Great Britain will contest with the older horses in the ,500 Autumn Inaugural Handicap, one mile and a sixteenth, whicli Is to bo the feature race of the opening day at Latonia. That remarkable two-year-old, Hodge, is among the sixty-odd entries for the Fort Thomas Stakes, another ,500 race which will be run on Saturday, October 25, while there .are more than fifty eligililes for the Autumn Stakes, at one mile, which will be run "on Saturday. November 1. Including all the best selling platers now in training. The closing event, set for the final day. Saturday. November S is tho feature- race of the meeting. It being the ,000 Litonia Cup, two miles and a quarter. In this event the contestors for the Louisville Cup and the Kentucky Endurance Stakes will meet for their final struggle of the season. It Is a handicap and the weights can bo most effectively adjusted by Secretary B. W. Alaginn. since ho- will have the results of the previous two long-distance races to bnid upon. Manager John Ilachmelster has the Latonia plant iu perfect condition. .Many Improvements that he has added to the plant since the summer meeting are now well on their way to completion. Air. Hachnieister will go to Latonia as soon as the business of the fall meeting at Douglas Park Is finished to remain there until the curtain falls on the autumn racing season in this state on November S. He believes that Latonia will enjoy an unusual prosperous fall season of racing this year. In fact, be looks for the meeting to be the bauuer one in Kentucky this fall.
