The latter worked his way up on the outside and finished fast, but failed to quite get up. SALON crowded ORTYX against the fence and was weakly ridden through the last quarter. INFERNO QUEEN was outrun for the first half, but came to the outside in the stretch and finishing gamely, passed the tiling leaders in the last fifty yards and won going away. ROD AND GUN was a forward contender all the way, but tired after disposing of HEARTHSTONE. DYNAMO ran on the outside for the entire way and finished fast. The latter ran on the inside of the winner for the entire way, was well ridden and had no mishaps. LACB ran gamely, but could never get up. KAYDEROSEROS was bumped badly by NELLO when the barrier was sprung. SPUING MAID ran fairly well. The latter ran in closest pursuit all the way and was wearing the winner down slowly at the finish. DONALD MACDOXALD was sore when going to the post and was always outpaced. SMALL went around on the outside at the start with a good burst of speed and set thf pace to the stretch, but tired in the last sixeenth. DOMBRA could never get up and was beaten off at the end. NET-MAKER ran moderately well. JOHN P. NIXON quit in the stretch.
