BIG STABLES GOING TO CHARLESTON. Many Reservations Already Made by Prominent Owners for Stables at Palmetto Park. Charleston, S. C, October 10. Entries for the stakes to be run at Palmetto Park the coming winter are coming in fast from horsemen throughout the country and applications for stalls are exceeding expectations. Members of the racing fraternity have been coming in and going out of Charleston in large numbers for the past two weeks, looking for suitable accommodations for themselves and their families during the racing eriod. Among the Well known horsemen who have already applied for stalls is John W. Schorr, of Memphis, Teiin. Mr. Schorr has applied for thirty stalls and will bring his famous three-year-old Leochares, which recently equaled the American record for three-quarters of a mile when be ran the distance in 1:10 if. at Douglas Park, Louisville. Ky. Thomas F. Sheody of New York will bring bis string here and W. T. Anderson has engaged twenty stalls. G. W. Langdon will bring, among others. Addie M., which is owned by Dr. J. W. Mcsservy of Charleston. She ran third in the Futurity. It. F. Carman will bring a string of thirty-two. Surprising will be bis chief Palmetto Derby candidate. A. G. Blakeley will have twenty-two ten of them will be yearlings bred by Messrs. Comstoek and Lawrence, of Lincoln, Cal. J. J. MeCafferty. who is training Dr. Tyrees horses, will hav. twenty-live. Wayne O. Joplin will be on hand with twelve. H. G. Bedwell will have one of the largest stables hero.. W. P. Bureh will be back again tills year with Dr. Duenner, Shackle-ton and ten others. The stable of J. L. Holland of New York will require about thirty stalls. Albert Simons is expected to bring some of II. P. Whitneys horses, and A. G. Weston will bring ten belonging to K. T. Wilson. II. J. Morris, steward of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, will Send Scallywag and Armament here. It. K. Watkins will bring Blackford, Barnegat and the rest of bis string, while B. F. Cooney will bring Guy Fisher and Punch Howl, Charlie Quinn will bring some of Frederick Johnsons horses and Archie Zimmer will have Scarsdale, Inspector Lestrade and others.
