: THIRTY LEADING MONEY-WINNING OWNERS OF 1913 i Although H. P. Whitney is well in advance of other American owners in stable earnings and likely to remain so to the end of this year. It may turn out that his stable returns will not equal the sum to the credit of John W. Schorr last year. The fact is that while much more money was raced for east and west this year than in 19111, it lias been more equally distributed and a greater number of owners can point to satisfactory stable winnings than was the case then. Last year only seven owners won as much as 0,000, while this year sixteen have already won that much or more. This is as it should be and conducive to the prosperity of racing. Thanks largely to old Donald Macdonald, J. L. Holland is second to Mr. Whitney and Ills stable is still in excellent winning form, but he is 0,346 behind his leader and not likely to bridge over that gap in what remains of the waning turf year.
