SHELBY BELLE, from a good beginning, moved into the lead after disposing of LOVELAND and easily held the others safe through the stretch. SHEPHERDESS closed a big gap and came fast through the last nuartor into a close up second. CHRISTMAS EVE was crowded back at the start and closed a big gap. SERENE made up ground and tired in the last quarter. BAYBERUY CANDLE had no mishaps and ran gamely. LOVELAND quit after setting the early pace. SECOND RACE 3-4 Mile. KLEBURNE sprinted into the lead after BRIGS BROTHER dropped out of contention, but by coming wide into the stretch lost considerable ground, then drew away in the last eighth. JUST RED closed a big gap after going a half mile and was a fast going second. YMIR showed speed and tired in the stretch. CRISCO set the pace to the last turn and quit badly in the last quarter. HENRY RITTE tired alter going well for a half. Overweights Henry Ritte, 3 pounds.
