- SCHORR STABLES SHOWING FOR THIS YEAR f : r. fr Last year, for the first time in his long career as a turfman, John W. Schorr enjoyed the distinction of heading the list of American winning owners. But this year lie was minus the services of his sturdy campaigners, Star Charter and Froglegs, arid so fell away from his proud eminence. Star Charter could not be trained and Froglegs, after making a promising beginning last spring, went amiss and had to be retired. This left ids speedy, three-year-old gelding. Lcochares, to figure as his best money winner and even he did not acquire good racing form until the racing season was well advanced. When ho did ripen he proved one of the fastest horses of the year, sharing with Iron Mask the credit of reducing the American record for tnree-quarters of a mile to 1:10 at Douglas Park. Hamilton and Vandergrift were his other best winners. Vandergrift was at one time thought to be about as good as any two-year-old out, but failed when brought into competition with" the real stars of his age.
