Time Represents a New Mark for .the Juarez Track Foundation Wins His First Purse for Jefferson Livingston in Fast Time. El Paso, Tex., December 0. Orb, Dr. I. E. Clarks two-year-old son of Luck and Charity and Jessie Mae, reduced the Juarez track record for three-quarters of a mile this afternoon in winning the Chapala Handicap, aud equaled the American record of 1:10 made at Louisville by Iron Mask on September 23. last. Orb made ail of his own pace and stood a drive in the final sixteenth of the race with rare gameness. Mimorioso was rapidly closing in on the record-breaker in the final fifty yards of the race. This is the second Texas-bred horse to equal an American record at the Juarez course within the last three days. Jefferson Livingstons colors were seen in front for the first time during the meeting when his three-year-old colt, Foundation, favored by good racing luck, defeated the speedy Vested Rights in a seven-turlong race run in 1:24. Two carloads of horses arrived today from California. Among them were the stables of W. H. Dupee, with nine head; T. P. Schwartz, with three; F. Dahuken. Jr., with three; Walter S. Heath, with three; Powers and Smith, with two, and George Milter, with one. Mack B. Eubanks, winner of tlio fifth race, was bid up by B. L. Smith from 00 to 00 and was retained with the customary advance of by owner C. W. Gasser. Recent work-outs of horses in training at Juarez were as follows: Bob Hensley Five-eighths in 1:00.
