JUAREZ TRACK IMPROVES THREE FAVORITES AMONG DAYS WINNERS OVER DRYING-OUT COURSE. Ben Stone and Inquieta Two Beaten First Choices That Have Bad Racing Luck Jockey Schwebig Is Reinstated. LI Paso, Tex., December 20. A large crowd was on hand at Juarez tday and witnessed some good racing. Three favorites were returned winners and the talent recouped some of the losses that lctel them during the week. Ben Stone, from the stable of W. C. Clancy, and favorite in the bettting, met witli defeat in the second race by Annual Interest. Ben Stone was tinior-tttiuite at the startiug gate. He broke well enough, but threw his head in the air after they had gone a few strides. Estep rushed him up on the rail where the going was heaviest and, in a hard drive, was beaten at the finish by a nose. Another favorite that met with sharp interference was Inquieta, in the sixth race. As the Held was rounding the far turn she was sharply shut off by Lookout. She made up ground gamely and lost the purse by onlv a half length. Buck Thomas was capably ridden by J. Howard, who lost no time in resuming riding, following his reinstatement of yesterday. H. 1. Poyneer today purchased Bird Man from Catesbv Woodford and two yearlings from Henry McDaniel. His horses are to be trained by Harry .Mack. Jockey H. Schwebig, who was suspended one year ago by stewards Winn, Breivogcl and Shelley, was today restored to good standing by that board. The track was in better condition today and was drying out as the afternoons racing progressed. It will be in fair shape for tomorrows racing.
